ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively manage the delivery of Group Management and Statutory Reporting information in line with the agreed service level agreements.

Group Management information will include financial information and scenarios required for S&OP meetings, H1 and FY targets. This will include co-ordination of assumption and other data inputs, running the forecasting process activities, preparation and generation of financial information and quality review prior to releasing to the customer for approval.

The objective of this role is to enable the COMFOM analyst to support business objectives by providing quality financial reporting information and analysis support for end markets.

Part of GBS R2R Team, responsible for Planning and Reporting Activities for BAT Markets, reporting line to GBS CFOM Lead, dotted line to Head of Finance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and co-ordinates activities to:

  • Actuals MI management

    • Prepares monthly actuals reports for Marketing Investment (e.g: Mi Tracker), with high-level analysis of the variations and highlights any significant variance with BHs and Marketing Finance team.
    • Based on actuals discussion with BHs, calculate and post monthly accruals (including evidence from BHs).
    • Prepares reallocation journals after discussing with BHs, ensures that the costs are posted correctly from MI perspective.
    • Proactively monitors and tracks costs and highlights any variance from plan, both actual and forecast, informing the Marketing Finance team and the BHs.
    • Prepares first level commentary, dashboards & variance analysis, including analysis of MI commitments.
    • Supports the Corporate finance for yearly external audit.

    • Controls and ensures delivery of accurate financial information duringSOP cycle (such as MI targets - MI in GTO, BSE and NBSE P&L lines), in line with group accounting principles and in line with Group’s calendar.
    • Monitors performance, incoming changes, sensitivities across MI between actuals, budget, latest forecast, and CY+1, by Market.
    • Reviews and provides accurate and timely monthly variance and cause of change analysis of Marketing investments costs (Mi in GTO, BSE and NBSE).
    • Provides ad-hoc reports and analysis requested by Marketing Finance team (e.g Write-offs & returns actual tracking).
    • Support the Marketing Finance team on the ad-hoc request from Area market.

  • Cost accounting and MD for MI

    • Manages & understands all cost allocations, cost accounting & queries (e.g. adjustments, accruals, provisions).
    • Joins Budget holders in understanding and applying the results in a favourable manner.
    • Review MD requests for changes and own process subsequently to reflect updates (e.g : WBS creation/COUPA updates/PO approval flow)

  • IFRS15 & TCI reclass

  • Monitors full cycle of IFRS15 & TCI reclass process.

Regular engagement with:

    • Local End Market functions: such as SPI, Supply Chain, Marketing Finance, etc.
    • Head of Finance, Area P&R Manager, GBS P&R, GBS Relationship Manager, GBS Service Lines (GL, IGT, O2C, P2P, MD)

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

    • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and strong understanding of the accounting process and practice in BAT / GBS
    • Full Financial Statements understanding
    • Good Business/ Commercial understanding and curiosity
    • Working well independently
    • Very good stakeholders’ engagement skills
    • Proactivity, initiative-taker, solution oriented
    • Good technical skills and solid knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically SAP or ERP equivalent, BPC/BI.
    • Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls with a continuous improvement mindset
    • Resilience and quick adaptability to changing environment
