ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

To lead the strategic sourcing of materials and services for Reynolds American through the development of innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies to deliver a significant competitive advantage for the company.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Lead Procurement cross-functional teams by coordinating all business activities to achieve sourcing decisions which deliver the highest value for the business in terms of quality, delivery, reliability, and cost to meet Marketing’s requirements for the following categories: POSM, Marketing Services, Promotional Materials and Print (AOR, research, media, etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to identify and assess suppliers capable to delivering the business requirements.
    • Plan, manage and coordinate category sourcing to ensure the desired business results are achieved based on best total value as per partners’ requirements (quality, delivery, savings, etc.).
    • Assess market and define best sourcing and negotiation strategy.
    • Actively collaborate with client groups to define and communicate material or service specifications and requirements.
    • Analyse quotations and suppliers’ proposal for accuracy, completion, contract compliance and make sourcing recommendations.

    • Follow strategic sourcing governance as well as SODA for contract assignment.
    • Find opportunities to improve working capital through payment term increases.
    • Identify spend optimization opportunities to achieve short and long-term savings target for category.
  • Support strategic planning and the Procurement process for assigned materials and services while exercising good business and analytical skills.
    • Work closely with Global Procurement (Global Sourcing & Category Managers) to provide inputs to define the global strategies for category, as well as support the deployment of such strategies in the US market.
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to identify business requirements that will require Procurement support.
    • Support in annual Procurement Plan definition including contracts, spend and budget analysis.
    • Support in annual CoPlan process
  • Lead annual Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process for his/her categories in scope including:
    • Supplier segmentation
    • Develop and implement SRM plans to improve performance (critical metrics measurement), cost competitiveness (when applicable), bring business relevant innovation, drive for ESG important metrics attainment and business risks mitigation.
  • Conduct benchmarking of category performance, applying market research and analysis for recommendations to client groups.
  • Support Procurement ESG workstreams and critical metrics:
    • Utilization of Procurement ESG tools and processes
    • Suppliers’ participation and emissions disclosure to CDP
    • Social audits (when applicable)
  • Perform spend analysis, category analysis and develop recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Conduct periodic SRM performance reviews with key suppliers to drive performance and commercial benefits for the business.
  • Utilization of Procurement tools/systems to support the business:
    • iCertis – contract creation and management
    • Coupa – RFx, project management and savings reporting
    • E-Auctions with support of tactical team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all partners.
  • Manage special projects and/or assignments as required, using approved guidelines.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Solid Procurement experience within the Marketing category leading sourcing initiatives with Marketing Services (AOR, Research, Media, Creative, etc.) Promotional Materials, POSM and Print.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong project and time management
  • Financial acumen
  • Contract management basic knowledge
  • Negotiation skills
  • Driven, energetic, flexible, and adaptable to change
  • Strong functional knowledge of computers and information systems
  • Must be able to understand, review, negotiate, and maintain various agreement types
  • Strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Previous experience in Procurement highly desirable

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant work experience, or Associates with 4 years of  demonstrated ability, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing or related field and 2+ years relevant work experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Proficiency in a Contract Lifecycle Management application (iCertis)
  • Competent of eRFX applications (Coupa)
  • Preferably, candidates would have experience working in a highly regulated environment
